۞ وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ نَرَىٰ رَبَّنَا ۗ لَقَدِ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَعَتَوْ عُتُوًّا كَبِيرًا
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And those who look not for a meeting with Us say: ‘Why are angels not sent down to us? Or why do we not see our Lord?’ Surely they are too proud of themselves and have greatly exceeded the bounds.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور اُن لوگوں نے کہا جو ہم سے ملنے کی امید نہیں رکھتے کہ ہم پر فرشتے کیوں نہ اتارے گئے یا ہم اپنے ربّ کو دیکھ لیتے۔ یقیناً انہوں نے اپنے تئیں بہت بڑا سمجھا ہے اور بہت بڑی سرکشی کی ہے۔
French
Et ceux qui ne s’attendent pas à une rencontre avec Nous, disent : « Pourquoi des anges ne nous sont-ils pas envoyés ? » ou « Pourquoi ne voyons-nous pas notre Seigneur ? » Assurément, ils sont trop prétentieux, et ont dépassé les limites de l’insolence.

Und diejenigen, die nicht auf die Begegnung mit Uns harren, sprechen: "Warum werden nicht Engel zu uns herniedergesandt? Oder wir sollten unseren Herrn schauen." Wahrlich, sie denken zu hoch von sich und haben die Schranken arg überschritten.

اور انہوں نے جو ہماری ملاقات کی امید نہیں کرتے کہہ دیا کہ کیوں ہم پر فرشتے نہیں اتارے گئے؟ یا ہم اپنے رب کو اپنی آنکھوں سے نہیں دیکھتے؟ انہوں نے اپنے دلوں میں اپنے آپ کو بہت بڑا سمجھا ہے اور سرکشی میں بہت آگے نکل گئے ہیں۔

[b]And those who look not for a meeting with Us say: ‘Why are angels not sent down to us? Or why do we not see our Lord?’ Surely they are too proud of themselves and have greatly exceeded the bounds.[2658]

Commentary:
The disbelievers in their conceit and arrogance seem to be satisfied with nothing less than that angels should descend upon them or God Himself should speak to them to bear witness to the truth of the Prophet.

جو لوگ ہمارے حضور پیش ہونے کا اندیشہ نہیں رکھتے وہ کہتے ہیں "کیوں نہ فرشتے ہمارے پاس بھیجے جائیں؟ یا پھر ہم اپنے رب کو دیکھیں" بڑا گھمنڈ لے بیٹھے یہ اپنے نفس میں اور حد سے گزر گئے یہ اپنی سرکشی میں
English - Sahih
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence.

اور ان لوگوں نے کہا جو ہم سے ملنے کی امید نہیں رکھتے کہ ہمارے پاس فرشتے کیوں نہ بھیجے گئے یا ہم اپنے رب کو دیکھ لیتے البتہ انہوں نے اپنے آپ کو بہت بڑاسمجھ لیا ہے اور بہت بڑی سرکشی کی ہے

Say those who look not to encounter Us, 'Why have the angels not been sent down on us, or why see we not our Lord?' Waxed proud they have within them, and become greatly disdainful.

Those people, who have no fear of coming before Us, say, "Why should not the angels be sent down to us? Or else we should see our Lord. " Great arrogance have they assumed in regard to themselves, and have transgressed all limits in their rebellion.

Those who do not hope to meet Us say: "Why are no angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" They are full of self-conceit and behave with intense arrogance.
