وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱللَّغْوَ أَعْرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ لَنَآ أَعْمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا نَبْتَغِى ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And when they hear vain talk, they turn away from it and say, ‘Unto us our works and unto you your works. Peace be to you. We seek not the ignorant.’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور جب وہ کسی لغو بات کو سنتے ہیں تو اس سے اعراض کرتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہمارے لئے ہمارے اعمال ہیں اور تمہارے لئے تمہارے اعمال۔ تم پر سلام ہو۔ ہم جاہلوں کی طرف رغبت نہیں رکھتے۔
French
Et lorsqu’ils entendent de vains propos, ils s’en détournent et disent : « A nous, nos œuvres, et à vous, les vôtres. La paix soit avec vous. Nous ne recherchons pas le contact avec les ignorants. »

Und wenn sie eitles Gerede hören, so wenden sie sich davon ab und sprechen: "Für uns unsere Werke und für euch eure Werke. Friede sei mit euch! Wir suchen nicht die Unwissenden."

Cuando escuchan palabras vanas, se apartan de ellas y dicen: “Para nosotros nuestras obras y para vosotros las vuestras. La paz sea con vosotros. No buscamos a los ignorantes”.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور (یہودیوں میں سے مسلمان ہونے والے جب) کوئی لغو[4] بات سنتے ہیں تو اُس سے اعراض کرتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں اے کافرو ہمارے عمل ہمارے لئے ہیں اور تمہارے عمل تمہارے لئے ہیں۔ تم پر سلامتی نازل ہو (یعنی خدا تمہیں ایمان نصیب کرے) ہم جاہلوں سے تعلق رکھنا پسند نہیں کرتے۔
یعنی مشرکین وغیرہ سے جب خدائی باتوں کے متعلق ہنسی ٹھٹھے کی بات سنتے ہیں۔

[a]‘And when they hear idle talk, they turn away from it and say, ‘For us are our works and for you your works. Peace be upon you. We have no concern with the ignorant.’

اردو ترجمہ مودودی
اور جب انہوں نے بیہودہ بات سنی تو یہ کہہ کر اس سے کنارہ کش ہو گئے کہ "ہمارے اعمال ہمارے لیے اور تمہارے اعمال تمہارے لیے، تم کو سلام ہے، ہم جاہلوں کا سا طریقہ اختیار نہیں کرنا چاہتے"

And when they hear ill speech, they turn away from it and say, "For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. Peace will be upon you; we seek not the ignorant."
