وَمَنۡ اَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنۡ ذُکِّرَ بِاٰیٰتِ رَبِّہٖ فَاَعۡرَضَ عَنۡہَا وَنَسِیَ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ یَدَاہُ ۚ اِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا عَلٰی قُلُوۡبِہِمۡ اَکِنَّۃً اَنۡ یَّفۡقَہُوۡہُ وَفِیۡۤ اٰذَانِہِمۡ وَقۡرًا ۖ وَّاِنۡ تَدۡعُہُمۡ اِلَی الۡہُدٰی فَلَنۡ یَّہۡتَدُوۡۤا اِذًا اَبَدًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, and forgets what his hands have sent forward? Verily, We have placed veils over their hearts that they understand it not, and in their ears a deafness. And if thou call them to guidance, they will never accept it.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اس سے زیادہ ظالم کون ہوگا جسے اس کے ربّ کی آیات یاد دلائی گئیں پھر بھی وہ ان سے منحرف ہو گیا اور اُسے بھول گیا جو اس کے دونوں ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا ہے۔ یقیناً ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر پردے ڈال دیئے ہیں کہ وہ اسے سمجھ نہ سکیں اور ان کے کانوں میں بوجھ رکھ دیا ہے اور اگر تو انہیں ہدایت کی طرف بلائے بھی تو ہرگز کبھی ہدایت نہیں پائیں گے۔

French

Et qui est plus injuste que celui à qui sont rappelés les Signes de son Seigneur. mais qui s’en détourne, et oublie ce que ses mains ont envoyé en avant ? En vérité, Nous avons placé des voiles sur leur cœur pour qu’ils ne le comprennent pas, et dans leurs oreilles une surdité. Et si tu les appelles à la direction, ils ne se laisseront jamais guider.

German

Und wer ist ungerechter als der, der an die Zeichen seines Herrn gemahnt wurde, er wandte sich aber ab von ihnen und vergaß, was seine Hände vorausgeschickt hatten? Wahrlich, Wir haben Schleier über ihre Herzen gelegt, so dass sie es nicht begreifen, und Taubheit in ihre Ohren. Und selbst wenn du sie zum rechten Weg rufst, werden sie nie den rechten Weg einschlagen.

谁比这个人还不义呢? 他被提示关于他养主的迹象, 但他离弃了它, 并忘记自己双手向前所遣送的 (作为)。[a]我确在他们的心上放置了多层遮盖物, 以便他们不明了, 且在他们的耳里 (制造了) 重听[772]。如果你呼唤他们去走正道, 他们将绝不接受。

E chi è più iniquo di colui che viene ricordato dei segni del suo Signore, ma se ne allontana, e dimentica quanto le sue mani hanno mandato avanti? Invero Noi abbiamo posto veli sui loro cuori, perché non comprendano, e una sordità nei loro orecchi. E anche se tu li chiami alla giusta guida, essi non l'accetteranno mai.

¿Habrá alguien más injusto que aquel a quien se le recuerdan los Signos de su Señor, y se aparta de ellos, olvidando lo que sus manos han cometido antes? En verdad, hemos puesto unos velos sobre sus corazones para que no lo entiendan, y sordera en sus oídos. Y si los invitas a la guía, nunca la aceptarán.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور اس شخص سے زیادہ ظالم اور کون (ہوسکتا) ہے۔ جسے اس کے رب کے نشانوں کے ذریعہ سمجھایا گیا (لیکن) پھر (بھی) وہ ان سے روگردان ہو گیا اور جو کچھ اس کے ہاتھوں نے (کما کر) آگے بھیجا تھا اسے اس نے بھلا دیا۔ ان لوگوں کے دلوں پر ہم نے یقیناً کئی پردے ڈال دئے ہیں تا کہ وہ اسے نہ سمجھیں[1] اور ان کے کانوں میں گرانی (پیدا کر دی ہے) اور اگر تو انہیں ہدایت کی طرف بلائے تو (وہ تجھ سے اس قدر حسد رکھتے ہیں کہ) اس صورت میں وہ ہدایت کو (بھی) کبھی قبول نہیں کریں گے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, and forgets what his hands have sent forward? [b]Verily, We have placed veils over their hearts that they understand it not and in their ears a deafness.[1703] And if thou call them to guidance, they will never accept it.

The disbelievers persistently refuse to see reason and to make use of their God-given powers with the result that these powers and faculties become rusted and corroded and they are left floundering in sin and iniquity.

And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the Signs of his Lord, but turns away from them, and forgets what his hands have sent forward? [b]Verily, We have placed veils over their hearts that they understand it not, and in their ears a deafness. And if thou call them to the guidance, they will never accept guidance.[2098]

Commentary:

These scoffers and mockers treat lightly the word of God and turn away from it and do not pause to consider that their plans, contrivances and designs have created only moral chaos, economic disruption and international rivalries. They have destroyed the peace of the world. But though all their schemes and plans have ended in complete failure and have added to the world’s chaos and disruption, they pay no heed to Divine guidance and thus belie their own experience that the rejection of Divine guidance never produces good results. What do these people who persistently refuse to see reason and do not make use of their God-given faculties expect except that these faculties should become rusted and corroded and that they should be left to their fate floundering in sin and iniquity?

اور اُس شخص سے بڑھ کر ظالم اور کون ہے جسے اس کے رب کی آیات سنا کر نصیحت کی جائے اور وہ اُن سے منہ پھیرے اور اُس برے انجام کو بھول جائے جس کا سر و سامان اس نے اپنے لیے خود اپنے ہاتھوں کیا ہے؟ (جن لوگوں نے یہ روش اختیار کی ہے) ان کے دلوں پر ہم نے غلاف چڑھا دیے ہیں جو انہیں قرآن کی بات نہیں سمجھنے دیتے، اور اُن کے کانوں میں ہم نے گرانی پیدا کر دی ہے تم انہیں ہدایت کی طرف کتنا ہی بلاؤ، وہ اس حالت میں کبھی ہدایت نہ پائیں گے

English - Sahih

And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord but turns away from them and forgets what his hands have put forth? Indeed, We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And if you invite them to guidance - they will never be guided, then - ever.

اور اس سے زیادہ ظالم کون ہے جسے اس کے رب کی آیتوں سے نصیحت کی جائے پھر ان سے منہ پھیر لے اور جو کچھ اس کے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا ہے بھول جائے بے شک ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر پردے ڈال دیے ہیں کہ اسے نہ سمجھیں اور ان کے کانوں میں گرانی ہے اور اگر تو انہیں ہدایت کی طرف بلائے تو بھی وہ ہر گز کبھی راہ پر نہ آئیں گے

And who (is) more wrong than (he) who is reminded of the Verses (of) his Lord, but turns away from them, and forgets what have sent forth his hands? Indeed, We [We] have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it and in their ears (is) deafness. And if you call them to the guidance, then never they will be guided then ever.

And who does greater evil than he who, being reminded of the signs of his Lord, turns away from them and forgets what his hands have forwarded? Surely We have laid veils on their hearts lest they understand it, and in their ears heaviness; and though thou callest them to the guidance, yet they will not be guided ever.

Who is more wicked than the man who, when he is reminded by the revelations of his Lord, turns away from them and forgets (the consequence of) the deeds wrought by his own hands? We have laid veils over their hearts lest they understand the message of the Qur'an, and We have caused heaviness in their ears. Call them as you may to the Right Path, they will not be ever guided aright.
