ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَٰبِى هَٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘Go thou, with this letter of mine, and lay it before them; then withdraw from them and see what answer they return.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

یہ میرا خط لے جا اور اسے ان لوگوں کے سامنے رکھ دے پھر اُن سے ایک طرف ہٹ جا۔ پھر دیکھ کہ وہ کیا جواب دیتے ہیں۔

French

Va avec ma lettre que voici, et présente-la devant eux ; ensuite retire-toi et vois quelle réponse ils rendront. »

German

Geh mit diesem Briefe von mir und lege ihn vor sie hin; dann ziehe dich von ihnen zurück und schau, was sie erwidern."

“你带着我这封信去, 投到他们面前; 然后 (礼貌地) 退后 (肃立), 看他们如何答覆。

Italian

Va' con questa mia lettera e presentala loro; quindi ritirati e vedi quale risposta restituiscono.»

Spanish

“Ve con esta carta mía y preséntasela; apártate luego de ellos y comprueba qué respuesta dan”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

تو میرا یہ خط لے جا اور اسے ان کے (یعنی سبا کی قوم کے) سامنے پھینک دے پھر (ادب سے) پیچھے ہٹ (کر کھڑا ہو) جا اور دیکھ کہ وہ کیا جواب دیتے ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

‘Go thou, with this letter of mine, and lay it before them; then withdraw from them and see what answer they return.’[2165]

Even if it be conceded that David and Solomon could understand the language of birds, there is nothing in the Qur’an to show that the Queen of Sheba also could understand their language and yet Hud-hud was entrusted with the mission to take Solomon’s letter to her and to have a talk with her on Solomon’s behalf and as his representative.

Go thou, with this letter of mine, and lay it before them; then withdraw from them and see what answer they return.’[2832]

Commentary:

In the words, "then withdraw from them," "Hudhud" had been taught proper etiquette which he had to observe while presenting Solomon’s letter to the Queen.

Even if it be conceded that David and Solomon could understand the language of birds, there is nothing in the Quran to show that the Queen of Sheba also understood their language and yet "Hudhud" was entrusted with the mission to take Solomon’s letter to her and to have a talk with her on Solomon’s behalf and as his representative.

میرا یہ خط لے جا اور اسے ان لوگوں کی طرف ڈال دے، پھر الگ ہٹ کر دیکھ کہ وہ کیا رد عمل ظاہر کرتے ہیں"

English - Sahih

Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return."

میرا یہ خط لے جا اور ان کی طرف ڈال دے پھر ان کے ہاں سے واپس آ جا پھر دیکھ وہ کیا جواب دیتے ہیں
