كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ

Such is the punishment of this world. And surely the punishment of the Hereafter is greater. Did they but know!

عذاب اسی طرح ہوتا ہے اور آخرت کا عذاب یقیناً سب سے بڑا ہوگا۔ کاش وہ جانتے۔

Tel est le châtiment de ce monde. Et assurément le châtiment de l’au-delà est plus grand. Si seulement ils savaient !

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اسی طرح عذاب اترا کرتا ہے اور اگر وہ جانیں تو آخرت کا عذاب دنیا کے عذاب سے بہت بڑا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Such is the punishment of this world. And, surely, [a]the punishment of the Hereafter is greater.[3101] Did they but know!

13:35; 39:27.

Sooner or later nemesis overtakes the exploiters and their contrivances to deprive others of the fruit of their labour fail altogether in their evil purpose.

English - Five Volume Translation

Such is the punishment of this world. [a]And surely the punishment of the Hereafter is greater. Did they but know![4326]

Commentary:

The verse speaks of two kinds of punishment. The punishment referred to in the preceding several verses in the words "such is the punishment" is the chastisement which overtook the opponents of Islam in this life. Those of them who repented were received in God’s grace and were blessed with worldly gifts many times more than what they had lost. But those who persisted in their opposition to Truth and died in disbelief, will have a great punishment in the Hereafter.

ایسا ہوتا ہے عذاب اور آخرت کا عذاب اِس سے بھی بڑا ہے، کاش یہ لوگ اِس کو جانتے

Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.
