قَالُوا۟ تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدْ ءَاثَرَكَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَإِن كُنَّا لَخَٰطِـِٔينَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
They replied, ‘By Allah! Surely has Allah preferred thee above us and we have indeed been sinners.’

انہوں نے کہا اللہ کی قسم! اللہ نے یقیناً تجھے ہم پر فضیلت دی ہے اور یقیناً ہم ہی خطا کار تھے۔

Ils répondirent : « Par Allāh ! Assurément, Allāh t’a accordé la supériorité sur nous et nous avons sans doute été des pécheurs. »

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
انہوں نے کہا‘ ہمیں اللہ کی قسم ہے۔ اللہ نے آپ کو ہم پر یقیناً فضیلت دی ہے اور ہم بلاشبہ خطا کار تھے۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
They replied, ‘By Allah; surely, Allah has preferred thee above us and we have indeed been sinners.’

They replied, ‘By Allah! Surely has Allah preferred thee above us and we have indeed been sinners.’[1591]
Commentary:
At long last the good nature of Joseph’s brothers manifested itself. They admitted that, in spite of all their opposition to Joseph, God had exalted him over them and he deserved it; for it is they who had been the sinners.

انہوں نے کہا "بخدا کہ تم کو اللہ نے ہم پر فضیلت بخشی اور واقعی ہم خطا کار تھے"
