A way is said to be Muqim when it continues to be used by wayfarers. The way referred to here, i.e. the one connecting Arabia with Syria, is still in use, thus fulfilling the prophecy implied in the adjective used for it in this verse. The way passes along the Dead Sea which is locally known as the Sea of Lot.

وَتَرٰٮہُمۡ یُعۡرَضُوۡنَ عَلَیۡہَا خٰشِعِیۡنَ مِنَ الذُّلِّ یَنۡظُرُوۡنَ مِنۡ طَرۡفٍ خَفِیٍّ ۗ وَقَالَ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِنَّ الۡخٰسِرِیۡنَ الَّذِیۡنَ خَسِرُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَہُمۡ وَاَہۡلِیۡہِمۡ یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ ۗ اَلَاۤ اِنَّ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ فِیۡ عَذَابٍ مُّقِیۡمٍ
偷看是罪人因自己的罪行被押来听候判刑时的眼色。
