يَٰدَاوُۥدُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰكَ خَلِيفَةً فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌۢ بِمَا نَسُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْحِسَابِ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
‘O David, We have made thee a vicegerent in the earth; so judge between men with justice, and follow not vain desire, lest it should lead thee astray from the way of Allah.’ Surely those who go astray from the way of Allah will have a severe punishment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اے دا ؤد! یقیناً ہم نے تجھے زمین میں خلیفہ بنایا ہے۔ پس لوگوں کے درمیان حق کے ساتھ فیصلہ کر اور میلانِ طبع کی پیروی نہ کر ورنہ وہ (میلان) تجھے اللہ کے رستے سے گمراہ کر دے گا۔ یقیناً وہ لوگ جو اللہ کے رستے سے گمراہ ہو جاتے ہیں ان کے لئے سخت عذاب (مقدر) ہے بوجہ اس کے کہ وہ حساب کا دن بھول گئے تھے۔
French
« Ô David, Nous t’avons fait un de Nos représentants sur la terre ; aussi juge entre les hommes avec justice, et ne suis pas les vains désirs, afin qu’ils ne t’égarent de la voie d’Allāh. » Assurément, ceux qui s’égarent de la voie d’Allāh auront un châtiment rigoureux, car ils ont oublié le Jour du Règlement des Comptes.
German
O David, Wir haben dich zu einem Stellvertreter auf Erden gemacht; richte darum zwischen den Menschen in Gerechtigkeit, und folge nicht dem Gelüst, dass es dich nicht abseits führe vom Wege Allahs. Jenen, die von Allahs Weg abirren, wird strenge Strafe, weil sie den Tag der Abrechnung vergaßen.

(然后我对他说:) “达五德啊! 我已命令你在大地上做为代理者; 所以你要在人们中间公平判断; 不要追随私欲, 以免它使你背离安拉的道路。” 的确, 凡是背离安拉道路的人, 都将遭受严厉的惩罚, 因为他们忘掉了审判的日子。

Quindi gli dicemmo: «David, ti abbiamo fatto vicegerente sulla terra. Giudica dunque tra la gente con giustizia, e non seguire il desiderio vano, per evitare di essere condotto fuori dalla via di Allah.» Per certo, coloro che deviano dalla via di Allah avranno un severo castigo, perché avevano dimenticato il Giorno della Resa dei conti.

“Oh David, te hemos convertido en vicario en la tierra; juzga pues entre los hombres con justicia, no sigas los vanos deseos, no sea que e aparten del camino de Al‑lah”. En verdad, quienes se aparten del camino de Al‑lah tendrán un severo castigo, porque han olvidado el Día de la Cuenta.

(پھر ہم نے اسے کہا) اے داؤد! ہم نے تجھے زمین میں خلیفہ بنایا ہے پس تو لوگوں میں انصاف کے ساتھ حکم کر اور اپنی خواہش کی پیروی مت کر۔ وہ تجھے اللہ کے راستہ سے بھٹکا دے گی۔ وہ لوگ جو کہ اللہ کے راستہ سے بھٹک جاتے ہیں ان کو سخت عذاب ملتا ہے کیونکہ وہ حساب کے دن کو بھلا بیٹھتے ہیں۔

Then We said to him, ‘O David, We have made thee a vicegerent in the earth; so judge between men with justice, and follow not vain desire, lest it should lead thee astray from the way of Allah.’ Surely, those, who go astray from the way of Allah, will have a severe punishment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.

Then we said to him, ‘O David, We have made thee a vicegerent in the earth; so judge between men with justice, and follow not vain desire, lest it should lead thee astray from the way of Allah.’ Surely, those who go astray from the way of Allah will have a severe punishment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.[3397]
Commentary:
The verse further comforts David and assures him that God will protect him against the machinations and plots of his enemies. He had not made him His vicegerent in the earth that he should come to grief at the hands of his mischievous opponents.

(ہم نے اس سے کہا) "اے داؤدؑ، ہم نے تجھے زمین میں خلیفہ بنایا ہے، لہٰذا تو لوگوں کے درمیان حق کے ساتھ حکومت کر اور خواہش نفس کی پیروی نہ کر کہ وہ تجھے اللہ کی راہ سے بھٹکا دے گی جو لوگ اللہ کی راہ سے بھٹکتے ہیں یقیناً اُن کے لیے سخت سزا ہے کہ وہ یوم الحساب کو بھول گئے"

[We said], "O David, indeed We have made you a successor upon the earth, so judge between the people in truth and do not follow [your own] desire, as it will lead you astray from the way of Allah." Indeed, those who go astray from the way of Allah will have a severe punishment for having forgotten the Day of Account.

اے داؤد! ہم نے تجھے زمین میں بادشاہ بنایا ہے پس تم لوگو ں میں انصاف سے فیصلہ کیا کرو اور نفس کی خواہش کی پیروی نہ کرو کہ وہ تمہیں الله کی راہ سے ہٹا دے گی بے شک جو الله کی راہ سے گمراہ ہوتے ہیں ان کے لیے سخت عذاب ہے اس لیے کہ وہ حساب کے دن کوبھول گئے

"O Dawood! Indeed, We [We] have made you a vicegerent in the earth, so judge between [the] men in truth and (do) not follow the desire, for it will lead you astray from (the) way (of) Allah. 'David, behold, We have appointed thee a viceroy in the earth; therefore judge between men justly, and follow not caprice, lest it lead thee astray from the way of God. Surely those who go astray from the way of God -- there awaits them a terrible chastisement, for that they have forgotten the Day of Reckoning.'

(We said to him): “O David, We have appointed you vicegerent on earth. Therefore, rule among people with justice and do not follow (your) desire lest it should lead you astray from Allah's Path. Allah's severe chastisement awaits those who stray away from Allah's Path, for they had forgotten the Day of Reckoning.
