2:178

۞ لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ ۖ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ ۗ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

It is not righteousness that you turn your faces to the East or the West, but truly righteous is he who believes in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Book and the Prophets, and spends his money for love of Him, on the kindred and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and those who ask for charity, and for ransoming the captives; and who observes Prayer and pays the Zakat; and those who fulfil their promise when they have made one, and the patient in poverty and afflictions and the steadfast in time of war; it is these who have proved truthful and it is these who are the God-fearing.

3:18

ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ

Believers (Mu’min) / Fear Allah Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Dawn / Remember Allah At Moral Traits / Humility, Humbleness Moral Traits / Steadfastness Patience (Sabr) / Sign Of A (Mu’min)Spending (Nafaqah) / By Believers Truthful (Sadiq)Believers (Mu’min) / Believe In Allah, Angels

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

The steadfast, and the truthful, and the humble, and those who spend in the way of God, and those who seek forgiveness in the latter part of the night.

3:111

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ

Allah / Enjoins Good, Forbids Evil Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Fisq / Abhorrence, Disobedience Mankind / Ummah And Moral Traits / Doing Good Muhammad(sa) / Followers Of Muslims Muslims / Are An Exalted Nation People Of The Book (Ahlul-Kitab)Ummah / People, Nation, Body Of Men

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind; you enjoin what is good and forbid evil and believe in Allah. And if the People of the Book had believed, it would have surely been better for them. Some of them are believers, but most of them are disobedient.

3:115

يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Allah / Enjoins Good, Forbids Evil Believers (Mu’min) / Believe In Allah, Angels Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Day Of Requital / Resurrection, (Yaumul-Qiyamah, Yaumud-Din, Yaumul-Akhirah, Yaumul-Ba‘th)Day Of Requital / Resurrection, (Yaumul-Qiyamah, Yaumud-Din, Yaumul-Akhirah, Yaumul-Ba‘th) / Belief In Qiyamah / Belief In Righteous (Salihin) / Description Of Righteous (Salihin) / Example Of Jews / Of Arabia

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin what is good and forbid evil, and hasten, vying with one another, in good works. And these are among the righteous.

3:135

ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Adversity Allah / Loves Those Who...Anger (Ghadab) / Man’s Anger, Rage, (Ghaiz)Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Moral Traits / Doing Good Moral Traits / Forgiveness Moral Traits / Suppression Of Anger Muhsin / Who Do Good Society Righteous (Salihin) / Rewarded

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Those who spend in prosperity and adversity, and those who suppress anger and pardon men; and Allah loves those who do good;

7:158

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلرَّسُولَ ٱلنَّبِىَّ ٱلْأُمِّىَّ ٱلَّذِى يَجِدُونَهُۥ مَكْتُوبًا عِندَهُمْ فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُم بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَىٰهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْخَبَٰٓئِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَٱلْأَغْلَٰلَ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلنُّورَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ مَعَهُۥٓ ۙ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet, the Immaculate one, whom they find mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel which are with them. He enjoins on them good and forbids them evil, and makes lawful for them the good things and forbids them the bad, and removes from them their burden and the shackles that were upon them. So those who shall believe in him, and honour and support him, and help him, and follow the light that has been sent down with him — these shall prosper.’

7:200

خُذِ ٱلْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ

Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Moral Traits / Forgiveness Moral Traits / Kindness Muhammad(sa) / Patience Of

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Take to forgiveness, and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant.

9:112

ٱلتَّٰٓئِبُونَ ٱلْعَٰبِدُونَ ٱلْحَٰمِدُونَ ٱلسَّٰٓئِحُونَ ٱلرَّٰكِعُونَ ٱلسَّٰجِدُونَ ٱلْءَامِرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱلنَّاهُونَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱلْحَٰفِظُونَ لِحُدُودِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Allah / Enjoins Good, Forbids Evil Allah (Hududullah), Limits Set By Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Glad Tidings (Bushra) / To Believers, Pious, Fearful Prostration (Sajdah)Raka‘ / Bow Down Repentance (Taubah)

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They are the ones who turn to God in repentance, who worship Him, who praise Him, who go about in the land serving Him, who bow down to God, who prostrate themselves in prayer, who enjoin good and forbid evil, and who watch the limits set by Allah. And give glad tidings to those who believe.

13:21

ٱلَّذِينَ يُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا يَنقُضُونَ ٱلْمِيثَٰقَ

Agreements (‘Ahd)Allah / Covenant Of Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Covenant (Mithaq, ‘Ahd) / With Allah

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Those who fulfil Allah’s pact, and break not the covenant;

13:22

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ وَيَخَافُونَ سُوٓءَ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Fear / Of Allah, (Khashi‘ah)Fear (Khauf)Nearness To Allah (Wasal)Reckoning (Hisab) / Count, Accountability Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And those who join what Allah has commanded to be joined, and fear their Lord, and dread the evil reckoning;

13:23

وَٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنفَقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً وَيَدْرَءُونَ بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّارِ

Allah / Spend In The Way Of Alms (Sadaqah) / Spend Secretly And Openly Believers (Mu’min) / Observe Prayers Dar / Abode, Home (‘Aqibatud-Dar)Jaza’ / Recompense / Of Believers, Of Righteous Moral Traits / Perseverance Paradise (Jannah) / Rewards Of, For The Righteous Men And Women, The Martyrs, The (Muhajirun), The Patient, Those Who Fear Allah, The Penitent Patience (Sabr) / Reward Of Preaching / Repel Evil With Good Salah / Rewards Of Offering Sin (Dhanb) / Redemption Of Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And those who persevere in seeking the favour of their Lord, and observe Prayer, and spend out of that with which We have provided them, secretly and openly, and repel evil with good. It is these who shall have the best reward of the final Abode —

22:42

ٱلَّذِينَ إِن مَّكَّنَّٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَمَرُوا۟ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَوْا۟ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْأُمُورِ

Allah / Enjoins Good, Forbids Evil Allah / Enjoins Prayer, (Zakat), Charity...Allah / Regulates All Affairs Believers (Mu’min) / Observe Prayers Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Salah / Rewards Of Offering Zakat Jihad / Permission For State / Rules Of War War (Qital) / Conditions For

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Those who, if We establish them in the earth, will observe Prayer and pay the Zakat and enjoin good and forbid evil. And with Allah rests the final issue of all affairs.

23:4

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ

Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Laghw / Vain Moral Traits / Vain, Idle Talk Paradise (Jannah) / Rewards Of, For The Righteous Men And Women, The Martyrs, The (Muhajirun), The Patient, Those Who Fear Allah, The Penitent Spiritual Progress Zakat

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And who shun all that which is vain,

23:9

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ

Agreements (‘Ahd)Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Covenant (Mithaq, ‘Ahd) / With Believers Moral Traits / Fulfilment Of Promises Moral Traits / Trustworthiness Trusts (Amanah)Paradise (Jannah) / Rewards Of, For The Righteous Men And Women, The Martyrs, The (Muhajirun), The Patient, Those Who Fear Allah, The Penitent Spiritual Progress

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And who are watchful of their trusts and their covenants,

23:62

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَٰبِقُونَ

Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

These it is who hasten to do good works, and these it is who are foremost in them.

24:23

وَلَا يَأْتَلِ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْفَضْلِ مِنكُمْ وَٱلسَّعَةِ أَن يُؤْتُوٓا۟ أُو۟لِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَلْيَعْفُوا۟ وَلْيَصْفَحُوٓا۟ ۗ أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَن يَغْفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Moral Traits / Forgiveness Moral Traits / Philanthropy Wealth / Share In

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And let not those who possess wealth and plenty among you swear not to give aught to the kindred and to the needy and to those who have left their homes in the cause of Allah. Let them forgive and pass over the offence. Do you not desire that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

25:64

وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًا

Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Modesty (Haya’)Moral Traits / Humility, Humbleness Salam / Greetings Of Servant / Of God

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And the servants of the Gracious God are those who walk on the earth in a dignified manner, and when the ignorant address them, they say, ‘Peace!’

25:73

وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ ٱلزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِٱللَّغْوِ مَرُّوا۟ كِرَامًا

Believers (Mu’min) / Who Enjoin Good Dignity / Honour Laghw / Vain Moral Traits / Lying Moral Traits / Truthfulness Witness Servant / Of God

And those who bear not false witness, and when they pass by anything vain, they pass on with dignity;
